Esther Muthumbi answered on 6 Jul 2017:

In the field of medicine I am a general practitioner, meaning I have not specialised in any field and so can work anywhere from paediatrics, to surgery. However, in the field of medical research I have specialised in epidemiology – which just means the study of disease occurrence.
