      Hi Kidd,
I think it is important to understand what artificial insemination is first..
Artificial insemination (AI) is the deliberate introduction of sperm into a female’s uterus or cervix for the purpose of achieving a pregnancy through fertilization by means other than sexual intercourse. It is a fertility treatment for humans, and is common practice in animal breeding, including dairy cattle and pigs.

The beneficiaries of artificial insemination are women who desire to give birth to their own child who may be in a lesbian relationship, single women or women who are in a heterosexual relationship but with a male partner who suffers from male infertility. So a male’s role in AI is to donate sperm that will be implanted into the recipient woman’s uterus.

I hope that answers your question?
      Best,
      Jacquie
