• Question: why is it that when there is cold someone fills eachy in the nose

      Hi Sumseno..
      The most common reasons for an itching nose are the common cold and allergies (to dust, smells, pollen, animal fur etc). Something as simple as dry heat or cold draught can cause a person to develop an itchy, irritated nose.
      The science behind the itching can be explained by this. When you are exposed to an allergen like cold or dust, the body releases a chemical called histamine which causes inflammation (swelling) of the tissues and increased blood to the site (redness) and sometimes pain. The stretching of tissues and other reactions like drying up of the membranes are responsible for intense itching that occurs.
